-Frogs and Butterflies
Who can deny the incredible phenomenon that is metamorphosis? This is the inspiration for these pieces depicting frogs and cocoons...
Life-Cycle of the common European Frog
This is where it all begins, inside this frogspawn you can just imagine the little tadpoles forming bit by bit...
These Sterling silver tadpoles, just about wriggle off your earlobe. The surface has been patinated with lime sulphur and then barrel polished to give this gorgeous blakc/brown lustre, very similar to the skin of real-life tadpoles.
The third stage in my frog life-cyce, these tadpole have sprouted back legs. Amazing.
Froglets with tails! The last stage in the metamorphosis...
These rings are elegant and simple by themselves, or can be worn together for something more interesting. The surface has been patinated using lime sulphur and then barrel-polished giving this gorgeous black/brown lustre. Very similar to the skin of the living article...
The frog on this ring looks as though he's just about to leap of your finger!
Life-cycle of the Red-Admiral Butterfly
The red-admiral butterfly lays her eggs on the leaves of the stinging nettle plant. In life the eggs are minute.
These catterpillars are curled up as though they are asleep. The surface has been blackend and then rubbed back with a scotch brite and this brings out the detail really well.
Here is a brass version of the Red-Admiral Chrysalis with a polished finish. It has a lovely weight to it when it hangs.
